April Pack Meeting: A Scout is Obedient

Welcome
Gather the scouts and families for opening remarks. Welcome everyone and thank them for attending.
Opening Ceremony
Flag Ceremony:
Begin with the Pledge of Allegiance led by a den leader.
Recite the Cub Scout Promise and Law of the Pack.
Theme Intro:
Introduce the theme "A Scout is Obedient." Discuss briefly what obedience means in the context of scouting, emphasizing respect for rules, authority, and the importance of following instructions.
Activities
Obedience Relay Race
Set up a relay course with various stations, each requiring scouts to follow specific instructions given by a den leader or an older scout.
Points are awarded for teams that successfully complete the tasks obediently and correctly.
Obedient Scouts Skits
Divide into small groups and assign each group a scenario where a scout must demonstrate obedience. Each group will prepare a short skit to present their scenario to the rest of the pack.
Listening Skills Workshop
Conduct a brief workshop focused on listening skills. Use fun exercises to highlight the importance of paying attention and understanding verbal instructions.
Craft Activity
Obedience Badge:
Provide materials for scouts to create their own "Obedience Badge." They can design it with symbols or words that represent obedience and what it means to them as scouts.
Closing Ceremony
Reflection:
Invite scouts to share something they learned about obedience during the meeting.
Scout's Own:
Close the meeting with a Scout’s Own, encouraging scouts to reflect on how they can practice obedience at home, school, and in scouting.
Announcements:
Share information about upcoming events, emphasizing any requirements or rules that need to be followed.
Dismissal:
Thank everyone for attending and remind them of the value of being obedient not just as scouts, but in all aspects of life.
