Theme: A Scout is Reverent
Agenda***
Opening Ceremony
Gather all scouts and families.
Start with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Scout Oath and Law.
Introduce the theme by discussing what reverence means, highlighting respect for the beliefs and practices of others.
Activities
Discussion Circle
Break into small groups and discuss different ways to show reverence in daily life, including respect for nature, people, and cultural traditions.
Each group shares its thoughts with everyone.
Craft: Gratitude Tree
Provide construction paper, scissors, and markers.
Each scout creates a leaf to write something they are thankful for, then attach it to a displayed tree.
Service Project
Plan a small community project to help those in need, such as preparing care packages. This embodies the spirit of kindness and respect.
Guest Speaker
Invite a local community leader or religious figure to speak about the importance of reverence in their lives and various cultures.
Closing Ceremony
Come together for a closing reflection on the day's activities and what reverence means to each scout.
Close with a Scout Benediction to reinforce the theme.
Reminders
Please bring non-perishable food items for the service project.
Encourage scouts to wear their uniforms.
Next month's theme will be announced, so be sure to attend and get involved!
Let’s make this meeting a meaningful reflection on how we can practice reverence in all aspects of our lives.
