October Pack Meeting: A Scout is Thrifty

This month's theme is "A Scout is Thrifty," focusing on the importance of being resourceful and making wise financial decisions. The meeting will include activities that encourage scouts to think creatively about saving money and using resources efficiently.

Agenda ***

Opening Ceremony (5 minutes)

  • Flag ceremony led by the Den Leaders.

  • Pledge of Allegiance and Scout Oath.

Group Activity: Thrift Store Challenge (20 minutes)

  • Divide scouts into small groups.

  • Each group is given a set budget to create a useful item or craft using materials sourced from a thrift store or items they bring from home.

  • Groups will present their items and discuss how they saved money while being creative.

Discussion: Understanding Thrift (10 minutes)

  • Talk about what it means to be thrifty.

  • Discuss ways to save money in everyday life.

  • Share tips on budgeting and making informed purchases.

Craft Activity: DIY Savings Jar (15 minutes)

  • Scouts will create their own savings jars using recycled materials.
